Poste Rojo

Poste Rojo is a very cool, one of a kind TREE HOUSE hostel about twenty minutes outside Granada. Built around and IN huge trees, Poste Rojo is perched on the side of Volcano Mombacho with an awesome view, especially at sunset from their restaurant/bar area. Special features are the canopy walk, which is a high, dangling suspension foot bridge that connects one large tree to another, a fireman pole, for sliding down 2 floors and a family of howler monkeys that are particularly curious about these bipeds sharing their habitat high up in the trees.

The walk back down from the treehouse to the entrance of the property is a little steep, a little dark – not so easy if one consumes too much from the bar… but there are plans underway to add some lights to guide the path.

We visited owners and friends Chad and Fred a few weeks ago while construction was under way, and returned recently to find everything completed and looking great, ready for opening night – full moon Nov. 27th. A definite good spot to visit en route from Granada to Ometepe or the beach.
