Haiti.. CO2 Bambu’s first house under construction

There were three priorities for this trip to Haiti. Firstly, to hire and train a first team of CO2 Bambu assembly workers. Secondly, to build the Lutheran World Federation house to be a model bamboo house. And finally, to find a warehouse to receive future shipment of bamboo materials.

While Julio (CO2 Bambu’s technical director, pictured on left with hat) launched construction with a just assembled Haitian team of masons and carpenters, Ben was scouting for a warehouse in the region of Petit Goave by the coast, and the epicenter of the January 12 earthquake.

Here Julio makes a first assessment of the cost of building a warehouse here.
