This is why CO2 Bambu is such a valuable life/work vehicle for us.
We want to have impact and have shown we can do so through CO2 Bambu in Nicaragua. We also want to experience life in different geographies and cultures and so long as we line up our travels with CO2 Bambu’s interests, all is well.
Thus it has been for our adventure in Viet Nam so far.
The topic of CO2 Bambu’s strategic over dependance on the Nicaraguan market and exposure to the vagaries of the Nicaraguan system was a constant refrain of CO2 Bambu’s board level discussions over the past two years. It was felt that a long term growth strategy for CO2 Bambu would require developing a strategic second source for bamboo harvesting and bamboo housing construction.
Viet Nam represents the perfect convergence of our personal travel passion and CO2 Bambu’s strategic sourcing requirement.
Mission accomplished!
After three months in Viet Nam, we have met our goal of developing a relationship with an existing bamboo savvy entity.
As well, we are developing an understanding of Vietnamese culture ~ something we consider a prerequisite before doing business in country.
We are thus ready to take the next step for CO2 Bambu by converging the two bamboo value chains of Nicaragua and Viet Nam in the pursuit of low cost flood resilient housing, that we will market in Latin America and SE Asia.
First step:
Tipitapa, Nicaragua.
The collaboration between Viet Nam and Nicaragua in the bamboo industry starts here.
Love the new logo. Great to hear this is shaping up!
