Before leaving Cali for “bamboo land”, we want to get a taste for what Cali residents do on their day of “fiesta”. It is in fact Monday, but it is a Fiesta day, so most places are closed. We inquire what’s the occasion for this fiesta, and with a shrug, people we ask say they don’t know but it doesn’t matter, there are lots of fiesta days in Colombia… So we head for the Cali river, upstream from the city.
Besides the clean water and green spaces, we also get our first walk in a Colombian bamboo forest growing alongside the river.
It turns out that by going up river a bit, we could get away from the crowds and have a stunning setting for Peta to do her yoga practice “al fresco”
